At the grand age of 102, the legendary industrial designer, Eva Zeisel, began her collaboration with The Rug Company.
Born in Hungary, she is mostly known for her ceramic designs (many of which can be found in illustrious design museums around the world, including Moma). Despite being a centegenarian, Zeisel stunned The Rug Company with her incredibly contemporary rug designs, which encapsulate the organic and sensuous aesthetic of her work.
A design icon, Zeisel has a long list of accolades, including creating the first all-white tea set. She has received many honors for her outstanding achievements, including honorary doctorates and a Cooper-Hewitt lifetime award, not to mention a lunch invitation at the White House in 2006.
Sadly, Eva died in December 2011 but her legacy lives on.
