Bespoke Service
The possibilities of rug design are infinite and we are always open to new ideas. Our Bespoke Service allows you to create a completely new piece, either based on an idea you have or developed alongside our team.
There are many nuances of technique and material to explore, as well as a dazzling range of colours at your disposal. Whatever you have in mind, we have the expertise and experience to help you realise your dream rug.
As with customising an existing design, it will take some time to weave your bespoke rug, but your patience will be rewarded on the delivery of a completely unique piece, interpreted from your imaginings.
Tim Braden Commission
A Bespoke Project
The artist Tim Braden commissioned us to create a bespoke rug from one of his paintings.
Our team matched the 26 colours and drew up the artwork to reflect the original paint strokes, adding the artist’s initials to the bottom corner.
This artwork was sent to our weavers in Nepal, who skilfully brought the design to life on the loom.
Process
The Steps Involved
Step 1
We discuss your idea and create artwork.
Step 2
Colours and materials are selected.
Step 3
A graph of the design is drawn.
Step 4
Colours are created and yarns are dyed.
Step 5
Full size rug is handwoven on a loom.
Step 6
Following a wash, rug dries in the sun.
Step 7
Finishing touches are made.
Step 8
Finished rug delivered to its new home.
