The champion of eclectic British fashion, Sir Paul Smith, has designed a new collection of handwoven rugs and needle point cushions in collaboration with The Rug Company.
The Festival anniversary rug (pictured above) is instantly recognisable as the work of Paul Smith. The classic stripe is given a contemporary twist with intersections and overlays, seamlessly flowing from one colour group to the next.
The impactful and uplifting design confidently embraces colour and will instantly transform any interior. The kaleidoscope of colours has been faithfully translated by The Rug Company’s weavers in Nepal to ensure that they work tonally; each single colour takes one day to create.
Carnival Pale, is a playful development of Paul Smith’s classic stripes, interpreted in an understated palette of pastel tones. The pattern is layered and plays with transparency, presenting a particular challenge for The Rug Company’s weavers in Nepal. The design contains 52 colours, an extraordinarily high number for a handmade rug.
Confidently bringing life to all spaces with its vibrant design, the iconic Overlay runner playfully combines clashing and contrasting hues. Available in two sizes, the Overlay runner perfectly encapsulates Paul Smith’s signature aesthetic and pairs this with exceptional craftsmanship.
