East London based design duo Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby are celebrated for their ground breaking interior and industrial designs.
Having studied architecture together at The Royal College of Art in London, they established BarberOsgerby in 1996. Since then they have designed collections for design greats such as Giulio Cappellini, Magis, Benini, Swarovski, Flos and Vitra, they’ve collaborated with Levis and Coca Cola, designed Stella McCartney’s first store in New York, and have been showered with a number of prestigious awards including the Jerwood Applied Arts Prize for Furniture, The ‘Designers of the Future’ by Design Miami 2006, and most recently they were awarded the title of Royal Designers for Industry by the royal Society of Arts. BarberOsgerby’s rugs epitomize the duo’s forward-thinking approach to design. In 2010, The Rug Company launched its first collection of children’s rugs; Owl, Snake, Butterfly and Fishes are masterfully designed, with an enduring appeal for children and adults alike.
BarberOsgerby’s work is found in many permanent collections including the V&A Museum in London, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Design Museum in London. BarberOsgerby were recently commissioned to design the London 2012 Olympic Torch.
This rug is entirely handmade. Aubusson tapestry is a very fine flat-weave quality originating in France which has been celebrated for centuries. Our designers have married this traditional and meticulous craftsmanship with their unique sense of pattern and colour. The finished rug is very fine yet strong, and works perfectly as a floor rug with the non-slip underlay supplied.
Deliveries to US, Caribbean and South American addresses are made by UPS using the quickest route. Shipping charges are calculated by volumetric weight, and are shown at the time of order.

We want you to be delighted with your purchase, so if you are not completely happy, you may return it to us within 21 days of receipt for a full refund (including shipping charge) or exchange - provided that the item is returned complete and in its original condition. To return an item, you must first contact us (we can be contacted on +1 212 274 0444 from 9:30am - 6pm EST, Monday - Friday). We will then arrange for UPS to collect the item from you. Returns can be collected from your home, work or an alternative address.
It is recommended that you keep the original packaging in order to make returning items easier. If you no longer have the original packaging we can suggest alternatives or send you new packaging free of charge.
