Million dollar decorators

Our Los Angeles showroom is used to stars of stage and screen popping in to pick up a rug or some cushions for their latest Hollywood Hills home or making use of our custom ordering service to show off something unique at their next Oscar party, but we were thrilled that our LA showroom was selected to make a guest appearance on the first episode of Bravo TV’s highly anticipated show, Million Dollar Decorators.

The high drama – and at times high comedy – reality TV show follows five of LA’s top interior decorators as they battle to keep their cool – and their senses – while fulfilling the interior dreams of LA’s rich and famous.  We work regularly with almost all of the designers featured on the show, so we were excited to see them in their element. Most thrilling of all was the warm praise from Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, who last year designed the hugely popular Mamounia rug for The Rug Company.

The charming British-born decorator said, “I’ve been a long-time fan of The Rug Company. The concept of combining traditional craft with such contemporary design has turned them out to be one of the most explosive and inspirational design brands of the millennium!  I have had the great pleasure of working with many luminaries, all of whom have Rug Company rugs they love… so designing for them is one of the highlights of my decorating career!”.

Finally, here’s a sneak preview of Mamounia Sky and Ikat – two new rugs by Martyn Lawrence-Bullard which will be in stock in all our showrooms worldwide very soon. Alternatively, they can be custom ordered in any colour or size. Look out for them in a future episode when Martyn installs one in comedian and TV presenter Daisy Fuentes’ home.

I know the show is called Million Dollar Decorators, but it left a bad taste in my mouth, too. I ssecupt the drama about timing was staging, because seriously, who runs out and buys a 30k rug and 25k artwork without any plan? And I was NOT impressed with his work for the price. I mean, it's nice but rather generic, and if you are spending that much money, you shouldn't be generic.I have always loved Mary McDonald, and I still admire her work, but I really don't like her after seeing the show. I really don't like any of them, although some seemed less obnoxious than others. The show was also too personality-driven. I want to see more than a few minutes of the finished product and more of what goes into the planning. I doubt I'll be watching again. BIG disappointment in terms of execution.

I do not understand why this company's website is getting many of the times i tried but it does no work anymore...and i need to watch out the collection because i am a designer so for me it is really important to know the taste of the current market.but i have very good experience of buying rugs from The Rug Company for more than two of the times and all were amazing.
