In Spring 2011, The Metropolitan Museum in New York will be hosting an extraordinary new exhibition. In association with the Costume Institute, ‘Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty’ will be a retrospective of the designer’s work, celebrating his astonishing contribution to fashion. Highlights will include…
…a dress from the Horn of Plenty show, Autumn/Winter 2009-2010, referencing McQueen’s love of the avian world.
This dress was originally worn by the model Erin O’Connor in the Birds Spring/Summer 2001 show.
A spectacular golden feathered jacket from the Autumn/Winter 2010 collection. The jacket is in keeping with McQueen’s love of birds, while also highlighting McQueen’s obsession with historical reference.
‘Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty’ is at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 4th May – 31st July 2011. Don’t miss it!
